food 2016: january to april.

ahhhh. food wrap-ups are one of my favorite posts to make. let’s look at this years first four months. last year’s food summary can be found here: part 1. part 2. part 3.

january:

1

i started the year in norway, so of course i was basically living off of boller, a kind of cardamom and raisin bun. so good!

after oslo, i went to stockholm and stayed at my dad’s place. he always has fresh fruit at home, so i ate that with yoghurt, cashews, and home made crisp bread.

one day, my childhood bestie joanna invited me over to her, and served me her mom’s FANTASTIC saffron ice cream with warm raspberries. this was amaze.

i also met up with my friends moa and matilda while i was in stockholm and had burger dinner at prime. yum.

february:

1

in february i was back in san francisco and teached my roomie ivana how to make bloody marys (so there was a lot of those in our home after that, hehe).

i was still in school for my last semester, so i cooked weird student life food, like fried zucchini and veggie sausage.

this spring i hung out a lot in hayes valley where ritual coffee is, so i had a bunch of coffee from there this year.

and i tried to eat smoothie bowls some mornings, but realized that i don’t really want to eat sweet things for breakfast, so i stopped.

march:

one day in march, i hung out with siri at her place, and she took care of me with thick wool socks and hot chocolate with whipped cream. <3

another day, me and her went to nopa for brunch. i had this trout bagel that was just SPLENDID, and a bloody maria (with mezcal instead of vodka).

later on in march, i traveled to portland and had so much lovely food! like this savory waffle from the waffle window, for example.

and this AMAZING tuna sandwich from lardo. this was probably the best thing i had on my trip. yummmm.

april:

2

in april, i was hanging out a lot with mark. one especially sunny day, we bought rum coconuts from the guy with the machete in dolores park and enjoyed the sun in the grass without shirts.

this craziness was in santa cruz. since we were at a theme park, they were selling all sorts of fried stuff. i live in america now, i thought, so i just had to try deep-fried oreos. it was like you’d imagine it: overwhelming.

on april 29th, i turned 25! and my sweet roomies ebba and ivana woke me up by singing happy birthday, and surprised me with pancakes, strawberries, and a chocolate cake! omg. <3

and later that same night, i went to have my birthday dinner at foreign cinema where me and siri had a beautiful dinner plus fancy cocktails (mine with gold sprinkled on it!).

a pretty good four first months, right? FOOD IS LIFE never forget

del ett av mitt matår 2016! började i oslo med boller, fortsatte i stockholm med joannas mammas saffransglass och sen bloody marys i san francisco, innan jag drog och åt fantastisk tonfiskmacka i portland. när jag kom tillbaka till sf fyllde jag år och käkade pannkakor och drack guld! mvg ändå.

    dina matlistor är mina favoritsammanfattningar alla kategorier! så mycket ljuvlig mat och så härligt att fokusera på något så enkelt och nödvändigt. fast ibland är det ju inte så enkelt, så klart… oavsett. älskar att du sammanfattar matåret! <3
