yellow leaves and the lake in central park.

first—yes. the unimaginable happened. at the moment, i don’t have much more to say than what i already did on instagram. i know there will be more times to talk about trump, but not right now.
so here is my saturday instead:

museum saturday.

i walked out on the street and was met by this beautiful view, just like i am every morning.

museum saturday.

(obama’s) new york was still worriless and beautiful.

museum saturday.

i was planning on going to the new museum, so i took the subway down to lower east side.

museum saturday.

turns out, there was some free family event day, and there was an insane line wrapping around the block. nope, i said, and took a stroll through nolita to figure out where to go instead.

museum saturday.

new plans! upper east side. started out with hanging out at the big lake in central park.

museum saturday.

it didn’t really feel like the city there (but it definitely felt like fall).

museum saturday.

after taking a few large breaths by the water, i turned around and went here—to the design museum! aka cooper hewitt.

museum saturday.

everything in my everyday life related to design is modern design, so i was pretty surprised to see this building.

museum saturday.

inside, there were both modern and classical exhibitions. one on solving societal issues in new ways.

museum saturday.

one on fabrics.

museum saturday.

in the museum store, i saw this silk tote in the style of cheap plastic take away-bags. so nice!

museum saturday.

i continued up to the second floor. the ceiling was so pretty and hogwartsy.

museum saturday.

speaking of hogwarts, btw. such pretty staircase models.

museum saturday.

a beautifully mosaiced cabinet.

museum saturday.

and this swedish apple vase! by ingeborg lundin, if i’m not mistaken.

museum saturday.

i was so so tired this day btw, so i sat here in the cafeteria and wrote and wrote (had brought my computer to do exactly that) and stared out the window until it went from this ↑ to this.

mao
